Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence, the infection rate and type of worm that infects the digestive tract Catfish (Clarias gariepinus) in region Surabaya markets. Random sampling will be used to collect from the catfish seller totally 90 sample catfish in Surabaya Market Areas East, West, North, Central and South purposively selected. Examinations were conducted in laboratory of parasitology veterinary medicine Airlangga University in November 2011 until January 2012. Methods of research carried out by using the method of floating and sedimentation. The result of floating and sedimentation method tested negative on microscopic examination and not appears the worm eggs. The result of microscopic examination by floating method and sedimentation method getting prevalence of helminth amount of 0% and there is no type of endoparasite worms.
