Abstract

The aims of the research was to determine the prevalence of worms Cestoda in laying hens and broiler chickens sold in traditional markets in Surabaya, and know type of worms Cestoda that infects the laying hens and broiler chickens in some traditional markets in Surabaya. Were used samples refecting laying hens while broiler chickens 5-6 weeks old broilers. Design of research used descriptive and observasional methods of retrieval techniques stratified purposive random sampling. This study used 100 samples of the digestive tract of laying hens and broiler chickens. The results were analyzed with the Chi Square test. The test results by Chi Square analyze showed that the prevalence of worm Cestoda infection found laying hens and broiler chickens in some traditional markets by 33 (66%). The conclutions of this research shown significant (p<0,05) of infection Cestoda worms by hens and broiler.
