Abstract

The aims of this research is to study the interaction of concentrate administered with lactation period on specific gravity, fat content and total solid content of milk of local Friesian Holstein. Experimental animals used in this study were 16 dairy cattles that are producing at the first and second lactations with average body weight of 400 kg and milk production about 8-10 liters. They were divided into four treatment, so each treatment containing 4 animal : P1L1 (concentrate A on first lactation period), P1L2 (concentrate A on second lactation period), P2L1 (concentrate B on first lactation period) and P2L2 (concentrate B on second lactation period). The experimental animals were given 20 days to feed trial and the milk samples were taken to measured the specific gravity, fat content and total solid content of milk. The data was analyzed with Analysis of Variant (Anova) method and for different mean between the treatments was tested by Duncan’s multiple range test. The software that was used to analyze the data is windows Statistical Program of Social Science 18 (SPSS 18). The result show that concentrate administered with lactation period is a no significant interaction on specific gravity, fat content and total solid content of milk.
