Abstract

This study was aimed to know the influence of the added detergent concerning on the description of histopathology that occurs on the gills of the carp (Cyprinus carpio). Twenty five of carp with the average weight of 10 grams and the approximately length of 5 cm were randomly divided into five groups of treatment (P0, P1, P2, P3 and P4), five repetition each those are given with the dose of detergent solution PO = 0 ppm, P1 = 9 ppm, P2 = 18 ppm, P3 = 27 ppm, and P4 = 36 ppm with the water volume of 30 liters. The soaking in detergent is conducted for 12 hours. The result of this study showed that based on the result of statistical test by Kruskall Wallis indicates that there are significant differences (p < 0,05) among the treatments, the further test result by using Mann – Whiteney U can be known that the highest damage gills are found on the P4 and statistically are significally different (p < 0,05) compared to the groups of P0, P1, P2 and P3. The conclusion of this study is a detergent exposure can make a damaged of histopatology from gills secondary lamella of carp (Cyprinus carpio).
