Abstract
The aim of this study is to determined the prevalence of gastrointestinal helminthiasis in goats (n=67) at Rengel Sub-District, Tuban, East Java. Native, sedimentation and floatation techniques were used to examined the sample. The results showed that 70.1% (47/67) of goats were infected with three different species of nematodes including Haemonchus contortus (50.7%), Oesophagostomum spp. (47.7%) and Trichuris ovis (43.3%), in relatively light degree of infection (ranging from 0 – 500 EPG). It can get both single or mix infection. The analysis has shown the correlation between the prescribtion of anthelmintic, age and geographical location factors with the prevalence of helminthiasis in goats.
