Abstract

These research had held in order to know the prevalence of brucellosis on the dairy cattle at dairy cooperation in East Java. Besides, the purpose of the study is to compare between Milk Ring Test (MRT) results with isolation Brucella abortus results, and to compare the prevalence level with the height of dairy cooperation. The sampling method used in this study was Stratified Random Sampling, which was taken from the area in the district of Pasuruan, the district of Malang and the district of Tulungagung. The sample was tested using the MRT method and then followed by isolation and identification for the MRT with positive 3 and positive 4. The MRT results showed that there are 31 positive samples from 267 samples. And the 20 of the 31 positive samples were Brucella abortus. The statistical analysis used in this study was Chi square which shows there are real differences between Milk Ring Test results and isolation results. This method also shows there is no difference between prevalence level and the height of dairy cooperation. The study gives 7.5 % (20/267) prevalence level of brucellosis on dairy cattle at dairy cooperation in East Java as a result.
