Abstract

The purpose of this research is to compare the influence of E. tenella infection to caecal lesion scores on broilers that are first infected and reinfected. An amount of 20 broilers type CP 707 are randomized and devided into 2 groups. The first group is infected by E. tenella at the week 5th, this group is named the first time infected group. The second group is infected by E. tenella at the week 3th and 5th, this group is named the reinfected group. On day 0 and 6 after infection, 5 broilers are getting performed the autopsy to take the caecal organs of each group. Macroscopic observation are doing directly to see the lesion scores, weight and clinical symptoms that occur during maintenance period. Based on statistic analysis of caecal lesion scores and caecal weight using the kruskal-wallis test, the obvious difference (p<0,05) are shown on caecal lesion scores and caecal eight. The highest result based on caecal lesion scores and caecal weight, is shown on the group of broilers that are first time infected on day 6 after infection (P2), after compared to another groups. There are close relation between caecal lesion scores and caecal weight, clinical symptoms on each treatment group are also obtained.
