Abstract

Globalization gives positive contribution for the field of demography, which increases the median age of first marriage. But on the other side, globalization causes negative impacts among adolescent premarital sexual behaviors. This research showed information regarding to influence of personal and environmental factors towards adolescent premarital sexual behaviors in Dolly prostitution area, City of Surabaya. The data used were primary data obtained through the use of questionnaires and direct interviews toward the subjects. This study was an observational explanative with cross-sectional study. The population was 248 adolescents that resided in Dolly prostitution area, City of Surabaya. Sampling was done using cluster sampling and obtained 70 adolescents. The independent variables were age, gender, level of education, knowledge, attitudes, income, onset of puberty, closeness to parents, access to sexual media and peer pressure. Analysis was done using multinomial multiple logistic regression, with the reference category was no premarital sexual behavior and the level of significance α = 5%. The result showed that pre-marital sexual was influenced by knowledge (p < 0,05). Adolescents who had less knowledge were compared to good knowledge more likely did sociosexual behaviors.
