Abstract

BOR of RSUD Kabupaten Pacitan in 2012 haven’t reached target yet. It only reached 46,60% of BOR, which the ideal BOR standard by Depkes RI (2005) is 60-85%. The goal of this research was to analyze the service performances of inpatient unit of RSUD Kabupaten Pacitan by using Theory of constraint approaches, so that can improve the number of patient’s visit. This research used descriptive design and simple random sampling method. Data was collected by using questioner that contained about internal constraint and external constraint. This questioner was given to 72 nurses in inpatient unit of RSUD Kabupaten Pacitan. Internal constraints were consist of time service capacity, medical equipment availability, availability of supportive facility, nurse’ attitude and nurse’ appearance, nurse’ workload, teamwork appraisal, also financial availability. External constraints were consist of availability of the healthcare competitor and accessibility of the hospital. The result of this research showed that the internal constraint of the inpatient unit of RSUD Kabupaten Pacitan were medical equipment availability, availability of supportive facility, and financial availability, meanwhile the external constraint of the inpatient unit of RSUD Kabupaten Pacitan is availability of the healthcare competitor. Those constraints could be minimalized by improving the facilities and basic facilities so that the RSUD Kabupaten Pacitan could give the better service to the patient and the number of patient visit will be increase.
