Abstract

Fatigue is a condition of feeling tired and having decreased vigilance felt by workers. Most of jobs in convection industry are monotonous and repetitive that has risk of the occurrence subjective feelings of fatigue. This study is conducted to study the factors associated with subjective feelings of fatigue on workers of Convection Home Industry in Gedangan Sidoarjo. This study was observational analytic with cross-sectional approach. Samples taken by simple random sampling are 27 workers. Statistical tests using correlation Spearman's rho. Data collected using questionnaires and interviews. The variables was age, gender, level of education, nutritional status, workload, work, long working time, and subjective feelings of fatigue. The results showed that 33.3% of respondents aged 41-50 years old. 70% of the respondents were women. Most of respondents (48.1%) were high schooleducated. 11.1% of respondents had low nutritional status and 59.3% of the respondents had normal nutritional status. Most of respondents (74.1%) had a low workload while 25.9% of the respondents had a moderate workload. Most respondents (55.6%) had working period ≤ 10 years. The average of respondents work for 8 hours/day. Internal factors associated with subjective feelings of fatigue were age (p = 0.012) and nutritional status (p = 0.019). External factor associated with subjective feelings of fatigue was working time (p = 0.011). Subjective feelings of fatigue felt by most workers were physical exhaustion, reel, pain in head, and body-trembling. Recommendations that can be given are arrangement of working time and rest period for the respondents.
