Abstract

Work related accident may happen due to unsafe condition and unsafe action, which there are 88% of it caused by unsafe action. To minimize accident in workplace, modifying unsafe action to be safe action is needed. The objectives of this study were to identify safety behavior of worker and to analyze the affecting factors of safety behavior. The study was done to the 25 respondent who worked on production process. Information of this study was obtained from questionnaire and direct observation using checklist sheet which had been adjusted with each job analysis. The variables of this study were knowledge, attitude, training, and work partner’s behavior. The results showed that more worker with good safety behavior have good knowledge and good attitude. Worker with good safety behavior also showed by the workers that had enough training and worker partner’s support. This study also proved that the behavioral changed could decrease number of accident in workplace. Therefore, it can be conclude that more increase of knowledge, attitude level, training frequency, and work partner’s support so safety behavior perform of worker is better. It is recommended to improve safety training, monitoring, socialization related to worker’s safety and to improve relation of fellow workers.
