Abstract
Safety briefing and safety supervision are two determining factors of safety behavior of workers. According to the Green’s theory, safety briefing is an enabling factor and safety supervision is reinforcing factors. Behavior of workers divided into three domain, which consists of knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP). The aims of this study were to determine the relationship between safety briefing and safety supervision towards the level of knowledge, attitude, practice safe behaviors of workers . Based on the data collection this study was an observational study and based on the research design, this study was a cross sectional study. Data obtained by conducting interviews and distributing questionnaires to 41 workers in Perakitan Barat unit at PT. INKA (Persero). The calculation of variables relationship using contingency coefficient. In addition, the odds ratios were also calculated to determine the probable occurrence of worker safety behavior. The results of this study showed that there is a moderate relationship between safety briefing and the the attitude of safe behavior (OR : 9.75 R: 0,453), safety supervision and action of safe behavior (OR: 11.11 R: 0,431), knowledge and attitude of safe behavior (OR : 6.97 R; 0,405). The conclusions of this study are that workers who get a good safety briefing will have a better attitude of safe behavior, workers who feel good safety supervision will have a better practice of safe behavior and workers whose good knowledge will have a better attitude of safe behavior. The suggestion from this study are to improve a safety briefing media or methods and improve the quality of safety supervision at work.
