Abstract

The need to utilize health services are influenced by individual factors, psychological factors, environment factors, and provider factors. The decline of outpatient visits in community health centers in Arosbaya from 2011 to 2013 were as much as 9.49%. The purpose of this study was to analyze the needs and demands of health services in community health centers in Arosbaya, Bangkalan Regency. The study was conducted in july 2014 with a descriptive approach. The sample were 91 respondents who were in the working area of community health centers. The sample were taken by purposive sampling method. The results of this study showed that most respondents were women, aged between 18 to 40 year, and as much as 35.2% of respondents were high school graduates with low income levels (income ≤ Rp 1000.000,-). The results showed that respondent had good knowledge of perception of health and sick. The needs and demands of general and specialist doctors for people in working area of community health center in Arosbaya were very high. The efforts that need to be made to increase the number of visits are: 1) manage a schedule for a general doctor in outpatient services, 2) collaborate with a specialist doctor for community health centers in Arosbaya, 3) improve the service quality of officers in community health centers in Arosbaya both medical and non-medical aspect.
