Abstract

This study is aiming to present the effort of human to recover from the trauma. Furthermore, the trauma in this study leads something to happen in the near future that is the emergence of multiple personality disorder. The main focus in this study is locating only about the main character. The multiple personality disorder in this study is shown by the characterization of Charlie. Using psychoanalysis combined with multiple personality disorder theory, this study is trying to give clear reasons what behind the emergence of multiple personality disorder are. The method which is used is close-reading method. The analysis comes into two ways which are narrative and non-narrative. As the result, the multiple personality disorder presented by Chalie is succesfully invading the mind of the main character. As the time goes by, Charlie takes over the main character original personality. Because of Charlie is considered as dangerous person, he must be stopped. By the intervention of other person, Charlie is successfully stopped from the nightmare that he created.
