Abstract

The research is about a 15-year-old Christopher John Francis Boone, the main character in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, who suffers from Asperger Syndrome. He uses his normative way of making sense of the world and seek the mysterious death of the dog. The intrinsic and psychological approaches are used to support the analysis. The sresult of the shows that Christopher discovers that the dog is stabbed by pitchfork. He also finds out that his mother is still alive. And his life starts to change. That condition brings him to a great adventure to solve the mysteries, even though his father forbids him to do that. In addition, he is able to make a choice, to live with his father or mother. The way he seeks, these mysteries are related to Karen Horney’s theory such as moving toward people moving against people and moving away from people.
