Abstract

Construction workers is one sector jobs inculded on mobile migrant category, where construction workers usually come from outside the area, away from couples or families and the general lack of information about HIV/AIDS. The workplace has a vital role in combating the spread and effects of HIV/AIDS pandemic. According to data from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (2014) cumulative number of HIV infections were reported from 2005 to June 2014 as many as 142 950 cases. Analysis demography and psychological factors on the motivation of construction workers on VCT HIV/AIDS can not be explained. The purpose of this stud analyzed the demographic and psychological factors will affect the motivation to do VCT HIV/AIDS on construction workers. This study used a cross-sectional design. Population was 50 workers educity Residence PT.PP Limited Surabaya as much and obtained samples corresponding inclusion criteria and using convenience sampling. The independent variables were demographic and psychology and the dependent variable was the motivation to do about VCT HIV/AIDS. Data were collected by questionnaire and using Chi Square analysis. The results showed no relation between demographic factors and psychological factors with p> 0.05 with demographic factors of age (p = 1.00), sex (p = 1.00), education (p = 0.901), marital status (p = 0.209), duration of work (p = 0.620), experience VCT (p = 0.549), and personality type (p = 0.408). Construction workers are expected to avoid risky behaviors HIV/AIDS. For health workers are expected to regularly hold socialization of VCT HIV/AIDS on construction workers. Further research was expected to develop this research, by knowing the dominant factor in influencing the motivation for VCT HIV/AIDS on construction workers.
