Abstract
The increasing number of child abuse cases in Japan becomes a big problem in the society. Which one is child abuse by their parent,who are to be expected to assist in caring and protect children. The period of this research are limited on the years of 2000 – 2014, as the report from Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare. The report was from an annual survey that conducted by the Ministry at the Child Caring Center. The reesearh method used in this research is literature review, data analysis, and descriptive. The theory used in this research use the concept of domestic violence, the concept of domestic violence in Japan, and the concept of child abuse. The researcher found that there are several factors that can lead a great number of child abuse happen in Japan. The government made a law for preventing the number of child abuse going higher. The law that had been made in May 24, 2000 is “Act on the Prevention, etc. of Child Abuse”. Abuse on children can be called as child abuse, if the perpetrator hurt the children bodies (which can lead to death), doing sexual harassment to the child, neglect them, and doing a domestic violence in front of the children
