Sebagaimana diketahui, Protozoa adalah binatang satu sel, yang berukuran beberapa mikron sampai dengan 130 mikron. Meskipun sebagian besar dari organisme ini hidup bebas di alam,Beberapa spesies hidup parasitik dalam tubuh manusia dan menimbulkan penyakit.
