Abstract

Confirmatory factor analysis is a multivariate analysis technique which analyzes all variables as indicator simultaneously. This research is intended to study the difference between loading factor and significance if analized using Lisrel and Amos software in default method with covariant matrix and likelihood maximum estimate. This is an applied research. In this research an application of confirmatory factor analysis was done at scaled ordinal dichotomy variable in nine indicator of poor families. The sample was 226 families. The findings show that ordinal scaled variable if analized with Lisrel software, loading factor value and significance will not be obtained because covariant matrix was not produced. If this had been continued unconvergent matrix massage would have appeared. If the data were analized with Amos software loading factor value and significance would be obtained because Amos assumed that the data scale in the variable is a continuing scale. As a comparison, the data was analized with Lisrel assuming that the data variable having continuing scale, so that loading factor value and significance were obtained. The difference between loading factor value if analized using Lisrel and Amos (assumed as variable data having continuing scale), that is between 0,1 - 0,2. There is no difference of significance value, but the chi square value obtained is different because of the difference of iteration.
