Abstract

The aim of this study is to obtain a comprehensive baseline data for subsequent reviews especially following the inception of burn unit in Soetomo hospital and to analize correlation to death due to extend, caused and inhalation of burn injury Method :The analytic observasional with a Retrospective study of burn injured patients admitted in the burn unit Dr Soetomo Hospital. From October 2006 to September 2008,Data was collected from medical record of patiens and was analized statistically Result:A total of 213 patients admitted in the Bum unit Dr Soetomo Hospital since that period . .39,3 % from Surabaya, 60,7% from outer of surabaya,64.3 of them were males, while 35.7% were female. giving a male: female ratio of 2: 1. The most common cause of these injuries was fire (47.9%), scald injuries was 23 .9% and electric injuries was 23.9%. Chemical injury only 1.9 %. during these study. 11.3% patients were death,3 .8% patients were discharge at own request.and 84.9 % were survive with variation of fungsional disability.
