Abstract

Investors need information about the company before make an investment decisions. With information from financial statement, investors can estimate company's capability to give return of funds that they were invested. Return that will be received by investors consists of capital gain, dividend, or both of them. Based on research from Indra and Fazli Syam (2004) and Widodo Pandowo (2002), the objective of this study is to analyze the influence of accounting profit (LAK), book value per share (BVS), price book value (PBV), and return on equity (ROE) to stock return. The samples are 10 manufacturing company which are selected by judgement sampling method. The period of this research is 5 years (1999-2003). The result of this research based on multiple regression linear show that accounting profit (LAK), book value per share (BVS), price book value (PBV), and return on equity (ROE) simultaneously have significant influence to the stock return. Partially, only price book value (PBV) and return on equity (ROE) variables have significant influence to the stock return. Where return on equity (ROE) variable has dominant influence to the stock return.
