Abstract

Introduction: Exclusive breastfeeding is the infant receives only breastmilk during 6 months. Objective: The aim of this study is to know about the affect of the exclusive breastfeeding to the 0-6 month infant growth at 2015 in Puskesmas Pucang Sewu, Kelurahan Pucang Sewu, Surabaya. Methods: This was a cross sectional study using KMS and medical records of 0-6 month infant during 2015 in Puskesmas Pucang Sewu, Kelurahan Pucang Sewu. There was 51 samples. We were collected the giving of the exclusive breastfeeding and the growth of the infant as baseline data. Results: The unwell growth was found at 3-6 month infants with 9,38% and wasn’t found at 0-3 month infants. The unwell growth was found at male with 11,53% and all of female infant was found as well growth. The unwell growth was found at the infants with 2500-4000 gram birth weight and there was no sample with less than 2500 gram and more than 4000 gram birth weight. The exclusive breastfeeding in this research was 15,68%. Well growth at non exclusive breastfeeding infant is higher (95,34%) than the exclusive breastfeeding infant (87,5%). There is no significant result (p=0,570) about the infant weight between the exclusive breastfeeding and non exclusive breastfeeding. Conclusion: The unwell growth was found at 3-6 month infants with 9,38% and wasn’t found at 0-3 month infants.
