Abstract

Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is one species of sea shrimp imported from Latin America and started to go to Indonesia since 1998. One of the main factors that could cause failures in shrimp farming vaname is the emergence of disease. So, we need to prevent and control the disease, such as, by improving the quality of feed and immunostimulant. The general objective of this study is to determine the effectiveness of immunostimulant in feed on the growth rate, enhancing the immune response and the survival rate of shrimp vanamei (Litopenaeus vannamei), a special purpose: 1) to analyze the efficiency of immunostimulant in feed to the growth rate in shrimp , 2) to analyze the immune response of vanamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei), which feed with immunostimulant, 3) to analyze the efficiency of the use of immunostimulant, which can improve survival rate (SR) and 4) to estimate the optimum dosage of immunostimulant on artificial feed to produce optimum growth rate, immune response and survival rate in shrimp. This study uses laboratory experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The samples are 200 shrimps in juvenile stage, 3 dose of artificial feed and variation of immunostimulant dose from 8 ml/kg ,10 ml/kg, 12 ml/kg to 14 ml/kg. The parameters were measured in this study: growth rate , immune response (Total Haemosit Count / THC and deferensial Haemosit Count / DHC) and Survival Rate. The data is tested by ANOVA and Duncan Range Test. The results showed that growth rate was highest in treatment A, 0.0229 and the lowest in treatment E, 0.0075, and there is no significant differences between shrimp vaname which feed with immunostimulant and without immunostimulant (p> 0.05) , The immune response measured by THC and DHC and showed significant differences between shrimp vaname with immunostimulant and without immunostimulant (p <0.05) . The highest THC is 59.3000 x 106 cells/ml and DHC is 14.4875% in sample C with 10% dose of immonostimulant feed. The highest survival rate in vannamei shrimp occur in shrimp with 10 ml/kg immonostimulant artificial feed (C) and the lowest occurred in the group of shrimp without immonostimulant artificial feed (A) is 48,75 %. There are significant differences effect between shrimp feed with and without immunostimulant (p <0.05). Feed with 10 ml/kg dose of immunostimulant give significant and become exactly dose to increase the immune response and survival rate, although not able to increase the growth rate of shrimp
