Abstract

This study showed the profile of retino blastoma in East Jaya, lndonesia and correlations between ini portflnt factors for Retinoblastoma ha.sed on lhe stage of malignancy and pedigree. This is a retrospective sEdy based on hospital rBedical record. Fourty four patieffs were diagnosed of retinoblastoma by histopathology examination. The classificalion of pedigree was dEtenni!€d by uniiaterality/bilaterality and family history of retinoblastoma. IRSS {lnteBrational Retinoblastcma Staging System) classification was used to detemine the stage of rctinablastoma, that is, intraocular, exkaocular and metastasis stage. The mean age of patients uras.14.64 months and most palients were in ihe age group of 6S-119 month {22-72W. The study shosed 38 {86.3606} cases of unilateral rectinoblastoma aad 6 {13.64%} cases of bilateral retaobtastoma. Relinoblastoma surface an palients mostly at stage lll-a vrith the total of 27 {€1.36%} cases and stage I or ll cach 6 (13,64%} cases. Pedigree classification shorged I 12.27%l fam,lial hercditary retinoblastoma patient, 5 t13.54%l sporadic hereditary retnoblastoma patients, and 37 (8,!.03%l patients of non-her€ditary retinoblastoma. Sp*annan correlation test between age and IRSS show a sigilificant reslrlts at slage lll-a (s = 0,785, p=0.002).
