Abstract
Physical quality tests ( weight variation, the degree of powder fineness) and chemical quality test (content uniformity) has been done to 45 phenobarbital 80 mg capsuls dispensed in six pharmacies at several government hospitals in Surabaya. Weight variation test was checked by analitic measure, the degree of powder fineness was checked using 80 and 120 mesh shieves, and the content uniformity test was checked using spectrophotometer UV-Vis with three wavelength method. The test result showed that in physical quality tests, none of capsul from six pharmacies suits the requirement such written on Farmakope Indonesia while in chemical quality test showed that only the capsuls from one pharmacy suits the requirement of content uniformity such written on Farmakope Indonesia IV.
