Abstract

Patients with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) during hemodialysis frequently experience increasing blood pressure post hemodialysis. Increasing blood pressure in ESRD patients contributes to the high incident of cardiovascular disease and risk to decrease life span of hemodialysis patients. Increasing blood pressure post hemodialysis is caused by multifactors, among all there are volume overload pre hemodialysis and stress. This study aimed to analyze factors of increasing blood pressure on post hemodialysis patients in Dialysis Installation RSUD Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. This study used descriptive analytical design with cross sectional approach. Samples of this study were 45 respondents taken through purposive sampling from regular hemodialysis patient of Dialysis Installation RSUD Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. The independent variable of the study were volume overload pre hemodialysis and stress with the dependent variable of increasing blood pressure post hemodialysis. This study used observation sheets for volume overload and increasing blood pressure and questionnaire for stress. Correlation data analysis used Spearman Rank with significant level α ≤0,05. The result of this study showed there were 77,8% respondents with volume overload pre hemodialysis, and there were 51,1% with stress. The result of Spearman Rank correlation showed = 0,243 for volume overload pre hemodialysis and = 0,757 for stress. From this study it can be concluded that neither volume overload pre hemodialysis nor stress does correlate with increasing blood pressure post hemodialysis.
