Abstract

Introduction: Violence against children is one of physically and emotionally abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, or commercial exploitation effects disruption of development, health and child survival. Incidence of violence against children in Indonesia 2015 was reached 6,006 cases. Based on preliminary data was conducted in Gresik, the incidence of violence against children in 2015 there were 31 cases. The purpose of this study was to analyze mothers behavioral factor in violence against children. Method: The study used descriptive analytic method. A population of this study was 88 mothers, a sample size used 32 mothers. Data were collected by quota sampling. This study has three variables, those are knowledge, attitudes and actions. Analysis data was used Spearman Rho. Results: The results showed that 34.4% of respondents have less knowledge, 68.8% of respondents have positive attitudes and 50% of respondents have moderates frequence of violence against children. Statistical test showed p = 0.092, it means there was no relationship between knowledge and action of mothers in violence against children and p = 0.000, it means that there was a relationship between attitudes and actions of the mother. Disscussion: knowledge’s factor of mothers is less, the attitudes of the mothers have the positive categories and action factor of mothers have in the medium categories. Further research can quantify of action and behavioral’s mother in observation method to make data more objective.
