Abstract

The purpose of the research was to determine the effect of synbiotics on percentage carcass and abdominal fat of hybrid duck. The subject of this research were 20 DOD (Day Old Duck) of male hybrid ducks. The method was experiment arranged in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and five replications. The treatment were P0 = feed, P1 = feed + 2% synbiotics of feed, P2 = feed + 4% synbiotics of feed and P3 = feed + 6% synbiotics of feed. Observed variables include percentage of carcass and percentage of abdominal fat. The data were analyzed by using Analysis of Variant (ANOVA), followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the addition of synbiotics in feed did not significantly affect (P>0.05) percentage of carcass and percentage of abdominal fat. The percentage of carcass produced in treatment with the addition of synbiotics not significantly different (P <0.05) compared with controls (P0). The percentage of abdominal fat produced in treatment with the addition of synbiotics lower than in the controls (P0) although not significantly different (P> 0.05). The conclusion is addition of synbiotics to level 6% of feed was not increase to percentage of carcass and was not decrease to percentage of abdominal fat.
