Abstract

This research was conducted to identify the presence of Influenza B subtype B-Yamagata virus on bats respiratory organs in Indonesia archipelago. The study was begun on Mei 2017 in Avian Influenza Research Centre (AIRC) Surabaya. Bats respiratory organs were collected from four archipelago area that consist Padang and Bintan represent Sumatra island, Bawean represent Java island and Pontianak represent Borneo island. Ninety nine bats were bought from bats butcher and pooled based on the organs system. The respiratory organs were embryonated chicken egg and the allantoic fluid was tested for haemaglutinin protein activity using microtechnique Haemaglutinan Assay (HA). Samples that showed titre at leats 22HAU/25 μL were continued to HA Inhibition (HAI) Assay using B-Yamagata antisera. The result showed from all sampel tested, only resulted 13 sampel positive of HA. HI Assay was performed and the antisera negatively inhibit the agglutination. The negative inhibition for agglutination of antibody toward antigen presents in the allantoic fluid indicated that the virus did not present in the Bats.
