Abstract
The purpose of this study was to know the prevalence helminthiasis on dogs in Surabaya and also to know the potential for environment pollution from the feces of worm infected dogs in Surabaya. Seventy five dogs feces were collected from dog shelter, cannel and some housing in Surabaya. Faecal were examined by floatation, sedimentation and Mc Master metode. The result showed that prevalence rate of helminthiasis on dog was 37,3%. The prevalence of helminthiasis in dog shelter was the highest (73.3%) followed by housing (33.3%) and cannel (13.3%). The worms species that found on dog were Ancylostoma caninum, Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina and Strongyloides stercoralis. The level of environmental pollution is calculated from the infection degree. According to the regression tree analysis, it showed significant differences in the potential environment pollution from daily care management, defecation spot and antihelminthic for dogs.
