Abstract

In living a family life a marriage sometimes will not go as smoothly as all couples want. The function of the family is to give love and protection to each family member. However, if the function is not obtained by family members, it will result in family disharmony. One of the causes of the occurrence of disharmony in the family is the existence of conflict and incompatibility between husband and wife in marriage life cause until thought to divorce, as well as for Japanese society. This research discusses and analyzes about the disharmonization of Japanese families in terms of wife's expectation of the husband reflected in drama Zannen Na Otto. This research uses qualitative method with descriptive analysis technique and assisted with family disharmonization approach according to Esere. The results found that the emergence of disharmonization in Japanese families in terms of wife's expectations of a husband reflected in drama Zannen Na Otto is based on the failure of Yoichi in carrying out the husband's role should be. Yoichi as a husband has failed in fostering, protecting and protecting families, including his wife and children. Therefore, it affected the unhappiness and discontent that Chisato felt as a wife. Yoichi fails and is unable to carry out the behaviors and roles his wife expects, especially to play a role in the care of their child.
