Abstract
Language education helps a lot for every people because language education is one of the important majors. In this case, English language is considered as the important education and the main skill for every people. There are some advantages for every people who have been good at English language education and skill. They could share experience or feeling each other, communicate and interact accross country, study and work outside country. The writer who has English language knowledge is interested in applying her knowledge in this course. LPIA is one of English course which provides three specific courses such as general English, specific purposes, and other courses. She hoped that choosing the English teacher position as her internship job, she would be useful for LPIA learners. Fortunately, the writer was given the opportunity to teach in Mid-Elementary, Pre-Foundation 3, Conversation 1, and Foundation 1 class in five weeks. In five weeks, the writer had some unforgettable experience that the writer did not get in the university. In the five weeks, the writer had to able to teach about grammar such as present tense and past tense for every student in LPIA. Besides, the writer also had to be able to introduce fruits, vegetables, foods, beverages, and animals for Pre-Foundation 3 class and introduce kind of health problems, getting better, and vacation. she had responsibilities to be creative to make the classes interesting and encouraging the students in the English learning process. The writer had to be creative to make the class interesting because there was no syllabus given to her. In this case, the writer could train herself to find a way to create students’ achievement through her explanation in the class. Eventhough the material in every level was almost similar, there were differences in explaining the material. The difference in explaining the simple past tense between Mid-Elementary class and Pre-Foundation 3 class was about the explanation method. In the Mid-Elementary book, the student made a simple past sentence first; then the writer explained on the white board about the simple past pattern on the white board. In the Pre-Foundation 3 book, the writer gave simple past material by reading a short story about Thief in The Museum. During her internship in LPIA, the writer had some difficulties. One difficulty was that the writer was difficult to estimate the time. The solution for the difficulties in managing time was the writer made a lesson plan and lesson procedure before she entered the class. Before the writer made a game, she estimated the time for explanation, games, and exercise. Fortunately, the writer had learned some subjects that could support her in preparing the materials such as Ethics and Personality, Structure 1,2,3,4 and 5, Speaking 1, 2, and 3, Pronunciation 1 and 2, Reading 1, 2, 3, and 4, Practice in Translation 1, 2 and 3, Introduction to English Language Teaching, and Teaching English as Foreign Language. Besides those subjects, other subjects were Micro Teaching, English for Young Learners, and Introduction to Language Testing. All of those subjects helped the writer a lot in preparing and teaching the materials.
