Abstract

Multi National Company (MNC) is a corporation that has its facilities and other assets in at least one country other than its home country. As a student of english diploma in Universitas Airlangga, the writer had chosen to do her internship abroad. This internship was about marketing through youth community, AIESEC. The writer was in the job training from 16 January 2017 to 10 March 2017 at Vanity Lounge as a beauty centre in Alexandria, Egypt. Vanity Lounge located in 33 Sharawy Street, Loran, Alexandria, Egypt. Vanity Lounge was established in February 2015, this beauty lounge is one of the high quality beauty centre in Egypt. The writer had a job as a business administrator with 8 hours of working hours. The writer was to be able to handle, supervise, and develop the company day by day. The writer had additional job that did not mention in job description, it was about write an email and made a deal with some companies. The writer was also working with the operation manager and kept following up about the progress that she made. In the writer’s opinion, Vanity Lounge is a good company that the writer to get new experiences and bring it back to Indonesia with proud. The writer has more knowledge and experiences , it was about make new friends, networking, and learn new culture. Also in the writer’s opinion, internship abroad was the best way to learn and apply her english skills and other knowledges that she got from english diploma Universitas Airlangga in real life. The writer has learned about new culture which make her more aware about her self confident. The writer got culture shock phase from this internship. This experience also made the writer know about self adjusting. Another thing that the writer has learned is about how to make a new circle of networking. The owner of Vanity Lounge, Yara El Helbawi, taught to the writer directly. She said that the writer had to able to handle people in every situation. Even colleague or customers must have different mind and, as a business woman, she was very careful to made any future decision. From this job training, the writer has learned about discipline, tolerance, and communicate properly with people. The writer had to be on time everytime she had a meeting and also behaves as professional as possible. Because, the writer learned new culture in daily living and also in business. Communicating with people in different society and culture was learned by the writer from this job training. The writer was also needed to understand more about how to adapt with new friends with different countries.
