Abstract

Jamu is one of the Indonesian traditional medicine that has been used to maintain health condition. Many people in Indonesia made jamu by themselves. The uses of herb and the procedure on making a jamu could be different among them depend on information about jamu that they have taken before. The quality of jamu depend on the selection of herbs, tools, dosage, procedure, and etc. The study took place on a public health center which has a group named “Kader TOGA”. Kader TOGA is a group consist of people around this public health center which have been trained esspecially about herbal medicine, it’s usage, even how to make it into a jamu. Kader TOGA have been clarified whether they made jamu or not. Kader TOGA that ever make jamu would be the respondent of this study. The instrument used in this study is semi-opened questionaire. The result of the quesionaire described to explain the comprehension, procedure, and resource of information about jamu. The result are kader TOGA ever make a jamu for cough (66,7%), muscle pain reliever or pegal linu (25,0%), and anti-obesity or pelangsing (8,3%). We conclude that kader TOGA comprehend the concept and the usage of jamu. Most of kader TOGA comprehend the procedure of making jamu because they done it correctly. Kader TOGA comprehend the information’s resources about jamu.
