Abstract

Antibiotics is agents that have antibacterial activity. Streptomyces sp. is a microbe which has ability to produce antibacterial agents. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity and the minimum inhibitory concentration of butanol-methanol extract from Streptomyces sp. B10 fermentation filtrate using TLC-bioautography method. The results indicated that the optimal mobile phase for separating butanol-methanol extract from Streptomyces sp. fermentation filtrate was methanol : water (6:4) which generate two spot. That have Rf value of 0,75 and 0,84 respectively. Based on the antibacterial assay using bioautography method, it was found that the spots have antibacterial activity. The minimum inhibitory concentration of butanol-methanol extract of Streptomyces sp. B10 fermentation filtrate is 0,398 ppm with inhibition zone diemeter of 7,70 ± 0,28 mm.
