Abstract

Background: Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI) is a condition characterized by an immune responsse to previous Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) infection without clinical evidence of active tuberculosis (TB). LTBI conditions can develop or reactivate into active TB disease, especially in children. Reactivation can be avoided with preventive/prophylactic therapy. Prophylactic therapy requires appropriate dosing to maximize the effective treatment and minimize the possibility of adverse side effects. Objective: The aims of this study was to analyze the profile of Isoniazid drug used in Latent Tuberculosis Infection, and to identify drug related problems (DRPs) of Isoniazid drug. Method: It was retrospective study during period January 2015 to December 2016 at Dr. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya East Java. Result: The result showed that from 17 pediatric tuberculosis patient the majority was female (11 patient) with the age of 1-5 years old (10 patient) and weight 5-10 kg (10 patient). The most recidence place of Surabaya city (14 patient) with good nutrition status (12 patient) and 13 patients have received BCG immunization. DRPs such as actual side effects were not found. Conclucion: Regimentation INH dose adjusted to the patient's weight. INH therapy is given for 6 months. The dosage regimen and duration of INH therapy are in accordance with the guidelines.
