Abstract

This research aims to determine whether or not the Influenza A virus H3 subtype on the scouring of the bat organs with the examination used is the hemagglutination inhibition test (HAI). The research was conducted at the Avian Influenza Research Center (AIRC) Laboratory and Biochemistry Laboratory of Faculty Medicine Universitas Airlangga. In April until June 2017. The 99 samples trachea and lung organ of bats. Bats from various regions in Indonesia, which comes from the Indonesian archipelago areas include Bawean Island, West Borneo, West Sumatra, and Riau Islands. The organ samples obtained were prepared and mashed by using tissue ruptor and then inoculated in the embryonated chicken egg 9-11 days old for 3 days afterwards followed by hemagglutination test (HA) micro technique . Samples having HA titers more than 22 followed by hemagglutination inhibition test (HAI) using Influenza A subtype H3 antisera. Then hemagglutination test (HA) is known there are 13 positive samples and tested hemagglutination resistance obtained three positive samples. It was concluded that indicating Influenza A virus subtype H3 was identified in bats in the archipelago.
