Abstract

Background: Perforated Acute Appendicitis is a condition where the appendix is perforated because of the worsening of appendix inflammation. Because of the abcess that happens after the perforation, generalized peritonitis may happen. Objective: This research aims to study the profile of patients with perforated acute appendicitis with generalized peritonitis complication in order to improve the knowledge of perforated acute appendcitis with generalized peritonitis complication and improve services for patients. Method: This was a retrospective study by assesing patients’ medical record and analyzed descriptively. Result: From 148 patients the ratio between male and female patients is 1,9 : 1, dominated with patients with the age range between 18 years old to 26 years old, the main complaint that patients complained mostly was pain in the right lower part of the abdomen, most of the patient came to RSUD Dr. Soetomo after 1-3 days after having the main complaint. From the clinical manifestation data, of 148 patients 100% were having abdominal pain, 52% were experiencing nausea, 48,6% were experiencing vomit, 9,5% were experiencing constipation, 9,5% were experiencing diarrhea, 66,2% were experiencing fever and 5,4% were experiencing flatulence. 65% of patients had higher body temperature than normal (>37,3 ºC), 62,8% of patients had tachycardia (60-100x/minute), 52% of all patients had tachypnea (RR >20x/minute), 50,7% of all patiens were having prehypertension, and all patients GCS score is 4-5-6. Based on the leukocyte count examination data, 83,1% of all patients were leukocytosis (>10.800 mm3). Conclusion: With the lack of variable, it still needs further studies with more complete data so the acuracy is better. Keywords: perforated appendicitis, generalized peritonitis, profile
