Abstract
Background: Preeclampsia is one of the cause maternal death in Indonesia. Maternal age and gravidity status is contributed to preeclampsia. Preeclampsia cause uteroplacental dysfunction thus the fetus can be deprived of oxygen and nutrition from maternal. This could bring to low birth weight infants. Method: The study of the research was observational analytic study with case control design which is aiming to discover whether there is relationship between maternal age and gravidity status with low birth weight infants in mother with preeclampsia. This study was conducted at Inna Maternity Hospital using medical data from 2012-2016. The population was 227 mothers with preeclampsia, then divided into groups of cases and controls. The case group was preeclampsia mothers who gave birth to LBW babies (77 sampels). And the control group is the preeclampsia mother who gave birth to non LBW (150 sampels). Analysis used chi square test in accordance to p value. Result and Discussion: There is much more preeclampsia mother who gave birth to non LBW (66,08%) than LBW infants (33,92%). There were no relationship between maternal age and LBW infants in preeclampsia mother p 0,905 (p>0,05). Found relationship between gravidity status and LBW infants in preeclampsia mother p 0,008 (p<0,05). Although the dominance of gravidity status is multigravida which is different to many research before this one. This could be from the variability and proportion of data that is lacked. Conclusion: There is relationship between LBW infants in preeclampsia and gravidity status (multigravida) though this result still complicated. There is no relationship between maternal age and LBW infants in preeclampsia. This study need to be addressed with more variability of data, range of place and times.
