Abstract

Introduction: Coronary artery disease is a disease in which the coronary artery is thickening due to multiple factors and eventually unable to work optimally according to its function. The purpose of the study to find out the distribution of patients with coronary artery disease based on age, gender, stage of hypertension, and hypertension pharmacological therapy. Methods: This descriptive study has conducted by using data from medical records on outpatient clinic that fulfilled the inclusion criteria in Dr. Soetomo general hospital Surabaya during the periods of January 2016-December 2016. With variable including age, gender, stage of hypertension, and hypertension pharmacological therapy. Data analysis by counting the number of cases and the distribution of patients with coronary artery disease that have hypertension pharmacological treatment. At least 150 patients fulfilled these criteria. Results: The study has found that the most patients were women (52%). The group aged 51-60 age group being the most patients (41%). Most of coronary artery disease patients has hypertension stage II (38%). Drugs which is most used are group of diuretics (24%), drug used in stadium pre-hypertension are group of calcium chanel blocker (24%), and the drug used in stage I and II of hypertension are group of diuretics with both (25%)
