Abstract

Introduction: Acne vulgaris is a chronic obstructive and inflammative dermatosis in pilosebasea unit which affects 47-90% of adolescent. It is a polymorphic dermatosis and has polygenetic influence. Clinical manifestation of acne are noninflammative and inflammative lessions. Purpose: to identify the Adolescents Profile of Acne Vulgaris In Surgical and Cosmetic Dermatology Division of Dermato Venereology Department Dr. Soetomo State/Teaching Hospital of Airlangga University Surabaya 2014. Methods: This study is descriptive retrospective research. The sample in this study is adolescent patients of Acne Vulgaris aged 12-19 . The sampling technique that use in this study is total sampling throughout the new adolescent patients with acne vulgaris examined in surgical and cosmetic dermatology division of dermato venereology department Dr. Soetomo State/Teaching Hospital of Airlangga University a Surabaya 2014 (from January through December). Results: During 2014, there were 302 new adolescent patients with acne vulgaris. Female patients were 69%. Between the age of 12-19, the subject was found to be 33% from total female acne patients and 53% from total male acne patients. 34,77% of all adolescent patients had suffered for 1-2 years. The most common predisposing factor found was food related (28,7%). Papulopustular grade II dominated the type of lesion (48,68%). Acne vulgaris therapy is done the most with topical drugs and the most frequently used topical drugs is tretinoin. Conclusion: Females were more than males. The most common predisposing factor was food related. The main therapy is done the most with topical drugs.
