Abstract

Thesis titled "Devided Goverment Regent and Vice Regent Incumbent In local elections in Sidoarjo (Study of Rational Choice local elections in Sidoarjo)" This is a study that uses qualitative methods phenomenology with data collection through in-depth interviews, observation, documentation study And literature studies. To analyze the phenomenon of devided goverment venture authors used two theories, namely the theory of rational choice and elite factionalization, the goal is to be able to explore the phenomenon. The related research of kongsi has the objective to know the background of why there is phenomenon of split kongsi as well as any factors that affect the occurrence of broken kongsi in the election of regional heads in Sidoarjo regency 2015. Broken kongsi is a condition that often occurs when ahead of the nomination of regional head. Saiful'illah broken joint venture between the Regent and Vice Regent Hadi Sucipto M.G occurs because each set off to run from a different party lines. In deciding to split up the syndicate Saiful'illah and MG Hadi Sucipto certainly look of rationality that exists, as well as consideration has elektabilitas and accountability are quite good and have constituents in their respective areas so that the rationality of the decision to split up the syndicate was the right decision . There are three things that viewpoint rasioanal selection decisions made in the broken joint venture among others, the role of parties, political figures and calculations. The case of broken kongsi that occurred in Sidoarjo regency becomes more interesting because Saiful'illah and M.G Hadi Sucipto is the same party cadre that is PKB, although M.G Hadi Sucipto is a mukhtasar cadre or honorary cadres because in the previous election become Saiful'illah couple. Conditions broke kongsi will certainly cause factions, especially the elite within the internal PKB, both the pros and cons of the decision devided goverment.
