Abstract

Background: Erectile dysfunction is inability to reach or maintain an erection and can reduce the quality of life. The most common of sexual dysfunction in men is erectile dysfunction (Hatzimouratidis et al. 2014). Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the severity of erectile dysfunction with some risk factor in erectile dysfunction patients at RSUD DR. Soetomo, Surabaya. Result: A total of 137 patients were reported to have erectile dysfunction, mostly dominated in Surabaya (57.66%) and 35.77% of patients were between 50 -59 years old. Ages show significant association with severity of erectile dysfunction (p=0.000), 29.93% of patients in ≥ 50 years old reported severe ED, 17.52% moderate, and 13.87% mild ED. History of diabetes melitus, hypertension, and BMI in our sample did not have significant association with severe ED (p=0.281; p=0.206; p=0.877). Conclusion: The findings showed that severity of ED increased with age and also showed that diabetes melitus, hypertension and did not correlate with severe ED and because lack of information, it still needs further studies with more completed data for a better accuracy.
