Abstract

Sepsis remains one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in children despite improved understanding of the pathophysiology leading to better clinical management and survival. 1,2 Natriuretic Peptide as a non invasive marker for caridac dysfunction in the intensive care unit, to evaluate severity degree of sepsis, also for diagnostic and as a prognostic. 2,3 Pediatric patients with septic shock related to severe hypovolemia, respond to fluid resuscitation. Haemodynamic respon to fluid resuscitation is different between child and adult. 6 Objective Analyzing Brain Natriuretic Peptide (BNP) level and fluid resuscitation correlation after fluid resuscitation in septic pediatric patients. Methods Analytical observational study was conducted for 28 septic pediatric patients, age 3 months – 15 years at RSUD DR. Soetomo, Surabaya. Pemeriksaan kadar BNP level, haemodynamic and ICON were examined before and after fluid resuscitation. Result BNP level was increased in septic pediatric patients. Wilcoxon Signed Rank test showed a difference BNP level before and after resuscitation (p<0,05),
