Abstract

The aim of research was to know of larvacide effect hexsane extract ofleaves of the kaffir lime (Citrus hystrix) against Culex quinquefasciatus larvae by in vitro observation. Four hundred and twenty larvae instar III of Culex quinquefasciatus. They devided into seven group which each of them were put into Aquades as K(-), Temephos 1 ppm as K(+), hexsane extract of leaves of the kaffir lime with concentration of 250 ppm (P1), 500 ppm (P2), 1000 ppm (P3), 2000 ppm (P4) and 4000 ppm (P5). The parameters measured by number of larva mortality that was observed each 4 hours after 24 hours of treatment. The research method was completely randomized design and analyzed by Anava then continued with Duncan’s multiple range test. The result show that in 4 hour observed K(-) was significant with P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5, but K(+) was not significant with P1 (P>0,005). According this research, the hexsane extract of leaves of the kaffir lime show the best effect in concentration of 4000 ppm.
