Abstract

Adolescent girls often complained about problems in reproductive organs, especially external reproduction organs, such as leukorrhea. Definite etiology of leukhorrea is health status, infection, environment, genetic and vulva hygiene practice. Self efficacy affected vulva hygiene practice. This study aimed to determine the relationship between self efficacy and vulva hygiene practice in Faculty of Nursing’s students. Method: This study objective was to identify the correlation between self efficacy and vulva hygiene practice in students of Nursing Faculty Airlangga University. This study was done in correlational research design with a cross-sectional approach and total sampling technique. There were 114 respondents who participated in this study. Independent variable was self efficacy and dependent variable was vulva hygiene practice. Data were collected by using two questionnaire, self efficacy and vulva hygiene practice questionnaire. This study was analyzed using Spearman rho test with level of significance at 0.05. Results: Statistical test using Spearman rho showed significant correlation of self efficacy and vulva hygiene practice with p value of 0.001 (p<0.05) and r value of 0.318 which indicates a positive correlation in low correlation category. Discussion: This study showed a low correlation between the variables, whereas the higher the level of self efficacy, the better the vulva hygiene practices. It can be expected for future studies to analyze the factors that influence the level of self efficacy to improve vulva hygiene practice.
