Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh nilai PDRB di sektor unggulan (sektor pertanian, sektor industri dan sektor perdagangan, hotel dan restoran) terhadap jumlah penduduk miskin di Provinsi Jawa Timur tahun 2000- 2008. Model analisis regresi yang digunakan adalah metode data panel dengan pendekatan Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Hasil dari analisis tersebut menunjukkan bahwa PDRB di sektor pertanian, sektor industri pengolahan dan sektor perdagangan, hotel dan restoran berpengaruh negatif terhadap jumlah penduduk miskin. Sektor industri berpengaruh signifikan terhadap jumlah penduduk miskin tetapi pada sektor pertanian dan sektor perdagangan, hotel dan restoran pengaruh tersebut tidak signifikan. Secara keseluruhan ketiga variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini dapat dijadikan rumusan kebijakan dalam mengurangi tingkat kemiskinan yang ada di Provinsi Jawa Timur Translation: The research aimed to know the effect in GDP of dominant sector (agriculture sector, manufacturing industry sector and also trading, hotel and restaurant sector) to the number of poor people in regency and municipality in East Java in period of 2000-2008. The regression method which is used in this research is panel data with approach to Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The result of this analyzis showed the GDP of agriculture sector, manufacturing industry sector and also trading, hotel and restaurant sector has negative influenced to the number of poor people in East Java Province. In GDP of manufacturing industry has significant effect to the number of poor people, conversely the effect in agriculture sector and trading, hotel and restaurant sector isn’t significant. Overall, the independent variables in this research can be a policy formula to reduced the number of poor people in regency and municipality in East Java Province.
