Abstract
In the survival of war, women also have important role behind the scene as the need suppliers and the war peacemaker. Adapted from a Greek comedy drama entitled Lysistrata created by Aristophenes in 411 BC, the film named Chi-Raq raises the same issue of sex strike movement to end the inter-city war occurred in their city. One of the unusual strategies in ending the war was pioneered by the main cast of Lysistrata. The author analyzes the strategy of Lysistrata and her group of women as part of the movement in the entire film. The Black Feminism theory proposed by Bell Hooks is relevant to the current information depicted in the film. It can be concluded that, this study indicates that the goal of Lysistrata is to implement a strategy to empower the entire community in its city to get the attention of the government in the economic and social sectors. Here, sexual movement becomes a powerful strategy in stopping the battle without using physical violence.
