Abstract

Teaching English for young learners is quite challenging for many teachers. They should create an innovative technique to teach their students especially young learners in the creative way. Through some activities, the students are expected to be more motivated to follow the lesson. Eventually, teachers are expected to build a fun and energetic class in teaching English. Some activities such as making dialogue, role play, and games will make the students learning new things especially in vocabulary and grammar. Those activities can be applied using Collaborative Learning (CL) techniques. It is a technique that will help each student sharing her or his contribution and making assignments be more interesting. CL represents a significant shift away from the typical teacher-centered or lecture-centered. But, teachers who use CL approaches tend to think of themselves less as expert transmitters of knowledge to students, and more as expert designers of intellectual experiences for students-as coaches or midwives of a more emergent learning process (Smith, B. L. &MacGregor, J. T., 1992).By applying CL technique, it will set up a good mood and enjoyable atmosphere between students and teacher
