Abstract

Introduction: The rate of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia is still low and far below from the national target. Breastfeeding preparation during pregnancy take effect to confidence and self efficacy that is a key predictor of both intention to breastfeed and exclusive breastfeeding to six month. Considering breastfeeding preparation is still low,then it is necessary to studied further about the determinant factor of breastfeeding. This studied aims to analyze the third trimester pregnant mother‟s behavior factor in breastfeeding preparation with world health organization‟s determinants of behavior. Metode: This study used descriptive analytic with cross sectional design. The samples were 62 people taken based on total sampling with 26 drop out people due to childbirth and miscarriage. The independent variabel were thought and feeling,personal reference, culture and resource: antenatal visits. The dependent variabel was breastfeeding preparation. Data were collected using quessionare and antenatal visits list and analyzed by Spearmen Rho with significant level 0,05. Result: The results showed a significant correlation between variable thought and feeling, culture and resource: antenatal visits with breastfeeding preparation, but there‟s no correlation between personal reference with breastfeeding preparation. Discussion: The factors associated with breastfeeding preparation are thought and feeling, culture dan resource: antenatal visits. Socialization of the importance of breastfeeding prepation needs to be done by goverment and health workers for the whole community both community leaders, religious leaders, families and pregnant women
